Over on the slog, there’s a heateddebategoingonaboutwhich type of apple is the best. By my non-scientific count, honey crisps seem to be winning by a landslide. As if there was ever any real question about their superiority.
Of course if you’ve ever tasted an English apple you’ll know they are the best in the world! I might be a bit biased here but my favourite is the English Russett. It’s got a rough skin, a crisp texture and an excellent nutty taste. No contest!
