Via Andrew Sullivan, an interesting survey that assesses your attitudes about five basic “moral foundations” and allows you to compare your answers against others who have taken the test and self-identified as “liberal” or “conservative.”
Andrew took the survey to try to confirm or deny his assertion that he’s “still a conservative,” in spite of the stance he’s taken against Bush and his war.
I didn’t have too many doubts about which side of the issues I’d end up on…

Update: I forgot to mention, the green bars represent my responses… (a reference from Kevin reminded me that I had failed to clarify that).
“His” war? It’s the United States of America’s war and it was duly authorized by the duly elected representatives of the American public. It’s America’s war. It’s our war, whether you like it or not. No matter how much you stick your fingers in your ears and
You do know that al-Qaeda and all the Islamacist terrorists of the world wouldn’t think twice about slicing off your head even if you do hate President Bush. Wake up. They want to kill us all–from the Oh-So-Eco-Conscious Vegan Lefties and 9-11 Truthers to the Red State Republicans. They are equal opportunity slaughter machines. They want to enslave the people of Iraq, the Middle East, and the World entire in a Muslim caliphate. Imagine what the Taliban did in Afghanistan on a world wide scale.
You call it “his war” today because you think it’s a slander, an attempt to pin what you view as a failure on a politcal opponent of yours. I wonder if you’ll still have the guts to call it “his war” when Iraq one day stands among the community of free, secure and democratic nations.
It’s called human liberty–you know, that thing Liberals used to claim they supported–and it’s worth fighting for.
I don’t always approve the comments that fall in the “vitriolic personal attack” category, but why the heck not… I suppose that’s the risk one takes when she puts her blog out in the wild. :)
I’m not really interested in arguing the merits of the Iraq war – that’s been done by many others who can express their opinions better than I can. But to explain the pronoun – I’d have a hard time calling a war that 54% of Americans want to pull troops out of ASAP (and only 39% want to “wait and see”) “America’s war.”
