[So, this bio is way out of date… Note to self to update it soon.]
Standard Disclaimer: I work at Microsoft Corporation. Everything in this blog is my own personal opinion and is not read or approved before it is posted. This is primarily a personal blog, although in the past I have written about WPF (the project I used to work on), and I may still touch on other work-related topics from time to time.
And Now That That’s Out of the Way: Like most people in Seattle, I’m a transplant. I am from California, which means that I occasionally get dirty looks from people who resent that Californians have helped drive up Seattle real estate prices; but more often, people just ask me whether the adjustment to the weather and the rain was difficult (yes, it still is a little bit difficult, but I’m managing. Snowboarding has helped).
I was born in Newport Beach, California, in the heart of “The OC” (although I’ve still never seen the television show of the same name). I lived in Irvine (just adjacent to Newport Beach) for the first 18 years of my life, and attended University High School (as did Will Ferrell, although not at the same time). I made a four-year stop in the Bay Area, where I attended UC Berkeley and left with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
I’ve been in Seattle since the summer of 2003. I live in Capitol Hill, which I love, in part because all of my friends are there, and in part because it reminds me of Berkeley. Aside from trying to keep warm, I spend my free time snowboarding, hiking, practicing yoga, attending rock shows, sampling local Pacific Northwest cuisine, attempting to learn how to cook, and just generally geeking out. I am in love with my digital camera, and some people I know call me the Paparazzi. I also travel way too much (often visiting friends and family), and am working on spending some weekends in Seattle occasionally.
